Aurora Aksnes was born June 15, 1996 in Stavanger Norway. Professionally known as Aurora and sometimes stylized with highercase letters like AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves was released through the record label Decca Records in May 2015 receiving great approval from musicians and music blogs as well as the press. She has previously recorded two high-profile covers Half the World Away by the group Oasis for a Christmas advertisement by John Lewis and Nature Boy by Nat King Cole. Katy Perry, who endorsed the track Runaway through her music, has given an additional boost to the music. Celebrate her special day. Aurora Aksnes first musical memory was discovering a piano at her loft, where she was amazed by its sound. Jan Oystein Aksnes, her parents May Britt Aksnes, and Jan Oystein Aksnes urged Aurora Aksnes to take up music for a hobby or career. Her first step was to compose her own songs. She credits renowned composers Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan as influences as well as an affinity for Bjork's style. Her mom encouraged her to sing her songs in public, not for the sake of trying to achieve fame, but rather to inspire others to realize just how important they are and what they can do for the world. At age 6 She began playing on the piano. When she turned nine, started writing songs. The family did not know about this until she was 14. She never had a desire to become Aurora. Her words say that she just likes to write songs. According to her, music is her favorite way of feeling something.
